Arunachalam ‘Padman’ Murugunantham or the ‘Menstrual Man’ from India founded the cheapest and safest way to produce sanitary napkins at a large scale after he saw his wife having no alternative to standard pads which were costly. Even after his wife left him and his society started tagging him as a pervert, he continued his research. Having spoken at multiple other conferences, India’s ‘Padman’ is now one of the most successful social entrepreneurs. His life story became a plot for R. Balki’s movie- ‘Padman’ starring Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor.
