About:

Touch the sky with Glory’- The motto of the Indian Air Force Academy, the 4th largest air force in the world not only motivates us but teaches us a lot about life. While not all of us can get into the Indian Air Force, but we can always learn a lot from the lifestyle at the Indian Air Force Academy- From training to becoming an officer.

typical day starts before the sunrise for cadets of Indian Air Force Academy starting from briefing to going on sorties and the advanced combat training sessions. However, to become a commissioned officer, they must complete their syllabus and go through rigorous training which tends to break them down at each level. It is similar to a life that breaks us down with the hurdles and makes us weak. However, if we learn a few qualities from the life at Indian Air Force Academy, then we can become an officer of our own life. It is only after the physical and mental strains that one becomes an IAF officer. If you can push your limits then the only limit is the sky. That is how an IAF officer touches the sky with glory.

Wing Commander Thakur became the first woman officer to lead a tri-services Guard of Honour in 2015 when President Obama visited India for the Republic Day parade. She shares her inspirational story and gives motivation as to what we can learn from IAF life.
